Healthi Kids and partners are building a playground designed for kids by kids In just one day on Friday, Oct. 3, volunteers are building an entire playground from the ground up at the Thomas P. Ryan Recreation Center. Healthi Kids, the City of Rochester, Sierra, and KABOOM! are teaming up for this one-day community build—and it's not just any playground. This one was designed by the kids and caregivers from our community. An early photo of the progress is above. Families can start playing on the playground on Monday, Oct. 6. This video is included as a resource on our Love from the Start campaign website; you can share it with others at LoveFromTheStart.org Check out a new PlayROCs Anytime, Anywhere Play Kit from your library Did you know that you can check out a PlayROCs Anytime, Anywhere Play Kit from several Rochester Public Libraries and get access to a wealth of toys to use to amp up your play? Host your own play day or boost the fun in a classroom setting. The possibilities are endless! Play kits are currently accessible at Phillis Wheatley and Lincoln Branch Libraries and can be requested via interlibrary loan at other libraries. Upcoming Event: Infant Toddler Play Day, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Winton Branch Library, 611 North Winton Road, Rochester, NY 14609. Learn more about how to connect and play with your infant or toddler. This event is in conjunction with the library's regularly scheduled Rhyme Time programming from 11:30 - noon.
