Healthi Kids knows Rochester’s R-Centers are where kids and families can discover something new, let off some steam, and have fun. These welcoming spaces are filled with caring staff, great programs, and so many ways for kids—and adults—to learn and play. Too many families haven’t discovered all that is happening right in their neighborhood, so we’re launching My R-Center Adventures, a community campaign that celebrates the everyday fun of R-Centers and invites parents and caregivers to share their own adventures.
What you’ll find at your R-Center
From tots to teens (and grown-ups, too), R-Centers offer free or low-cost activities that make it easy to get active, be creative, and connect with neighbors. Depending on the site and season, families can explore:
- Active play: open gym, sports, swim time, and recreation leagues
- Creative arts: music and dance, drawing and painting, crafts, and maker projects
- STEM & learning: homework support, coding and robotics, science clubs, and reading corners
- Family fun: game nights, holiday events, movie days, and community celebrations
- Outdoors: playgrounds, gardens, nature walks, and summertime adventures

Your family’s experiences can inspire other parents to try something new. As part of My R-Center Adventures, we’re collecting short stories, quotes, photos, and video clips from caregivers across the city.

- Help spread the word: We’ll feature community stories on Healthi Kids channels to help more families find their way to R-Centers.
